Pine Martens Project
Pine Martens Bounce Back: The Two Moors Pine Marten Project is working with local communities, stakeholders and the wider public to explore the return of the species to the South West of England after an absence of more than 100 years.
The project is led by Devon Wildlife Trust and is a partnership between six conservation organisations: Dartmoor National Park Authority, Devon Wildlife Trust, Exmoor National Park Authority, National Trust and Woodland Trust. Somerset Wildlife Trust and Forestry England are also supporting the project. The project is made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and with thanks to the National Lottery players. We are also grateful for the support of a number of generous donors and for the expert advice and guidance of Vincent Wildlife Trust, NatureScot and the Zoological Society of London.
‘Pine Needlers’
The Woolly Nanas are looking for individuals or groups of volunteers with crafting and making skills to engage in activities such as knitting, crochet, felting and toy making that will celebrate the mysterious (but wonderful) life of pine martens. The items will be used to provide schools with pine marten and woodland themed toys and items to support a ‘Pine Marten Travels’ activity.

The Pine Marten's Project is Expanding!
Pine martens are being released on TWO moors, so Rita and Marcelle are going to Exmoor on 15th May.

If you are in the Exmoor Pony Centre area, pop in for some needle felting, learn about pine martens and meet some lovely people and ponies.
