FeltingAdventures

“FeltingAdventures” is a local cottage business, and it was created by me, Rita Pearson, a self-taught felt crafter and experienced Waldorf teacher, in 2018.

In my first year being self-employed, I found my hobby, which also became my therapy, for dealing with the sudden loss of being part of a lively school community.
Since then, I have been learning and experimenting to become a felt artist. I am now successfully leading felting workshops for children and adults.

I am also one of the Founding members of the Woolly Nanas and THE WOOL HUB in Buckfastleigh.
The main priority in my professional life has been to continuously study and observe child development in our fast changing and demanding world. I am passionate about supporting children and I am raising awareness about the importance of life skills and skill-building projects.

I firmly believe we need to connect to earth and to understand the world around us so that we can become skilful and empowered to take free decisions for our lives.

My products are 100% handmade, with wet-and needle felted techniques.

The wool used are various British wools, also Merino, Bergschaf and Corriedale. I also incorporate silk, bamboo and other fibres for embellishment. The finishing touches are mostly handmade buttons and clasps, using attractive beads and embroidery.
“FeltingAdventures” supports community charities, local crafters and promotes children’s healthy development.
