Flax Spinning and Weaving at the Wool Hub
 

From 11th June, until March 2027, we will be inviting people to come and spin flax at the Wool Hub in Buckfastleigh, now on Wednesdays and occasional Saturdays.

These sessions are free, to facilitate the spinning of flax for the project. so you will need to contribute some spun flax for weaving.
 

We’re taking a short summer break but are excited to announce our autumn dates:

 

Wednesday 16th Sep 10.30am - 12.30pm 

Thursday 24th Sep 6.30pm - 8pm

Wednesday 30th Sep 10.30am- 12.30pm 

Sat 3rd Oct 10.30am - 12.30pm 

Sat 17th Oct 10.30am - 12.30pm

 

We also have Amanda Hannaford running flax spinning workshops on the 20th September (morning session for beginners/afternoon for advanced), offered to those who haven’t attended the Flaxland training 

These sessions are free to people who want to volunteer to spin flax for the project.

To keep spinning, we rely on volunteers, donations, course fees, grant funding and sales of handmade, unique and beautiful wool items.
